The Role:

Remote - Full Time

We're looking for a Security Operations Manager who will thrive in a remote startup environment and drive security-related projects under the supervision of our CEO. Previous security-related experience is not required, but you must have a technical background and experience working with web development, servers, databases, and software integrations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with department heads and technical teams to uncover and solve our most pressing security challenges

  • Drive best practices in security processes around database/server management as well as vendor/software integrations

  • Follow security trends and stay on top of potential attack vectors to proactively safeguard against possible vulnerabilities

  • Become the “go-to person” for internal security consultancy by building project specifications and offering guidance regarding security-related initiatives

  • Manage the full cycle of security project development from concept to completion

  • Conduct security acceptance of new projects by executing quality control on final deliverables and ensuring they meet security guidelines established by the security operations department

  • Establish a firm grasp of internal processes across all departments and all teams

  • Prepare, prioritize, and present potential security projects and initiatives to the executive team

  • Be a power user in Jira/Confluence

Qualifications:

  • At least five years of technical experience at a technology company

  • Self-starter and autonomous executor

  • Analytical thinker

  • Experience solving complex problems

  • A natural curiosity for causes and systems

  • Ability to seamlessly switch between solving the most immediate problems at hand and keeping a bird’s eye view of the overall strategy

  • A passion for technical challenges, online transactional systems, and genuine excitement for transforming nonprofits through technology

  • Background in computer science or a technical/science field
